WANTED- College Students

More and more college students are looking for work. They don't need a report to tell them that we are in a recession. I have been in touch with some college students looking to make money for many personal reasons. They don't want to rely on mom and dad, they don't want something that will take up a lot of time and interfers with their studies.

Direct Selling offers an opportunity to market a service or product, work from home, work your own hours and create financial independence. Many companies have very reasonable start up costs. Unlike traditional businesses which require thousands to millions of dollars. There are tax advantages for owning your own business. Many companies do not require inventory, because you can place orders for your customers online and they ship directly to the customer or to the distributor.

Many companies refer to the terms downline and upline. Your upline are the people who sponsor and train you. The downline are people you bring in. The downline creates your residual income.

When you are searching for a company, take a look at the history and stability of the company. Is it new or established for many years? Both have its pros and cons, being new is not a bad thing. It may mean that not many representatives are saturating the market which means little competition. While a company who is established may mean there is a history of financial stability and branding. What is my competition? Study the compensation plan. Is this a product or service you feel passionate about representing?

One word of advice- If you treat your business as a hobby; then it is. Treat it as a business and it will grow.
